Just received a call from a pretty darn good names sourcer – for discussion sake, we’ll call this person “Maureen.” Now “Maureen” has concerns that she has oversaturated herself in an online sort of way. She wonders if people are sick of hearing her talk about “The phone is the best way to go, blah, blah, blah” or “Ethics, shmethics, dial away and ye shall receive, blah, blah, blah” or better yet, “I’m so tired of hearing about Internet sourcing that I’m gonna Google my breakfast all over my keyboard.”
We’ve all read “Maureen’s” voluminous posts and probably have wondered “doesn’t she ever sleep?” There’s the 17 ERE Groups she regularly reads and replies to, a few yahoo Groups, researchzilla, Recruiting.com, and countless other sites related to underground or subversive names sourcing.
But when “Maureen” called today and asked whether I thought she should just blog and stop spending hour upon hour on sites when she could be names sourcing for all her well-known clients, I thought that I’d bring her query to the masses. So here it is…
Should “Maureen” be given her own blog to serve as a names sourcing bully pulpit?
[note from Steve: Think of this as a way to free up other Groups, sites, etc. for posts from other people and not receive hundreds of “Maureen” posts daily]
Please post your replies here. Thank you.
